I decided that the shell and primary structure of the building would be prebuilt with the internal secondary elements left for the residents to self build, this would be a more manageable process but still very rewarding for the residents. This would also manage the materiality, with concrete as a backdrop to the mis match of cheap and available materials for the self build.

On a macro scale I proposed a plan similiar to the incremental style of Quinta Monroy. There would be alternating modules of the flats which were already built ready to be lived in and modules which could be self built by the owner. This was to accommodate the residents whilst they built their flats.

In the plans are fixed stairs and spaces dedicated to plumbing potential. By doing this the plans were to some extent decided with a kithen and bathroom space but the resident still had freedom to explore multiple layouts.
