To formulate a programme for my building I connected the two aspects I was exploring via the increasing problem of homelessness in Manchester. My concept is to inhabit the building with a homeless population who will in return run a series of social spaces such as coffee shops for the people of Stretford.

To define my scheme further I looked into the type of homeless who would inhabit my building. I found it important to tackle the most extreme form; chronic homelessness. To constitute as chronic homeless the individual must suffer from substance abuse, sleeping rough and no access back to society.
